Woops, not that doomsday

Woops, not that doomsday

As I check out some of my other posts, I noticed that I had one talking about the big doomsday theories rolling around for September, which at first I thought I was talking about 2016, because there were ALOT of them. Then I realized, it was for 2015. So, same theories, different year. And yet…here we remain. Same old jobs, same old worries, same old doomsday theories. Is this what humans are doomed to be? Worry warts, wondering when the end is going to come and trying to be prepared? What is it that makes us feel the need to anticipate what is going to happen, so that we can survive it and continue on? A past experience perhaps? One to many world wide floods maybe? Or is it an ancient memory for when humans were used for another purpose, keeping ourselves on the edge, looking over our shoulders. Who knows. If nothing else, when whatever doomsday happens, we’ll all stand up and go, “Oh THEY were right about THAT one.”

Dinosaur's extinction

Asteroid & dinosaurs

Everyone knows that history says a meteor killed off the Dinosaurs. A large rock crashed into the Earth and devastated the planet, causing many species, including the Dinosaurs to perish. But with small animals, able to hide in burrows or caves, were able to survive the disaster, and eventually they evolved into us humans. That’s what the books tell us.

There are people that believe that humans are not from the Earth. Some theories talk about Earthlings actually being Martians, and then after a disaster, we migrated from Mars and moved to Earth. Some people believe that humans were “seeded” on the planet, or that Aliens genetically altered animals on Earth to become humans for slavery purposes. There is a theory out there that the Moon is actually a space ship. That its hollow on the inside.

Today, we know that our planet might not survive without the moon, in its exact orbit, because this orbit allows the ocean tides, and influences our weather patterns. If our Moon is strong enough to affect our Oceans, by literally pulling the water on our planet in different directions, then wouldn’t a Moon suddenly appearing in orbit, be destructive?

is the Moon a ship?

is the Moon a ship?

What if, our Moon is a spaceship? What if our Moon was our transport ship to Earth, and to make the Earth habitable, we parked it in just the right spot to help terra-form the Earth? What if the Moon was purposely parked there because it was known that if parked at this distance, that it would cause great shifts on the planet, and essentially wipe out most of the ginormous, and destructive creatures, allowing our species to have the chance to thrive and take advantages of the planets resources?

So, maybe it wasn’t a meteor that killed off the dinosaurs. Maybe it was us.

The Doomsday Nay-Sayers are at it again. This time targeting the end of September as their goal for the destruction of the world. It is turning out to be a pick your flavor doomsday scenario week. Whether you believe the Anti-Christ has arrived, and with him the Rapture, Californian Earthquake, Solar Flare, or everyone’s favorite: Asteroid/Comet, there is a scenario for everyone this time.

Doomsday 2015, You Ready?

My biggest complaint about these doomsday “theories” is that many of them reference movies, like 2012, or Deep Impact as proof of the end coming. These are MOVIES PEOPLE, the writers put the same information that everyone has read from the Bible and Spook sites in the script for drama. There are no coincidences in a movie, no hidden messages that coincide with what was written down somewhere before. The writers put that in the movie to give it a more realistic and paranoid feel. Don’t use fiction as your proof. Get out there and find the real facts to create a doomsday scenario. Get news clips for your reinforcement that the end is near, or that there is a secret government conspiracy.

One theory on youtube.com makes an attempt by using a press conference vidoe, from I assume in Russia because no details on who was speaking were given, dated May 13, 2014, where the gentleman stated that, “…in 500 days we will begin to see environmental chaos.” Then the video flaunts September 28th and the Event Horizon followed by a completely useless video/music entourage of photos that aren’t related to anything. The problem? He never did his math. 500 days from May 13, 2014 (day 177 of the year) brings you to October 4th-6th, 2015. Depends on if you like to count the first and last day as “Days”. That’s about a week off. Simple details that can be verified but never were!

Personally, I’d use the fact that the U.S. “borrowed” Billions of dollars from China during our recession to help get the economy going again. Did we really borrow it, or is that a bill we owe for tech they are building. How about soon after China launches their own space station, which no hears about?

Time should be taken to review what is really happening in the world to create a theory of possible government/world conspiracy. For instance, what if China’s new island they are building in the Sea, isn’t really a military base, but a new launch pad for rockets or missiles to shoot people into space, or perhaps launch missiles at a comet/asteroid? Pick your flavor on that one. The U.S. hasn’t done any real steps to prevent them from doing it.

What if Russia’s incursion into Crimea is also to secure a specific site for other than military purposes. Could they need quicker access to a mountain region, or to the Ocean? Why haven’t they moved to take over the rest of the Ukraine yet? The Russian advance into Crimea was quick and decisive. Again, the U.S. has no real effort in deterring this. Two major nations, not really friends, moving into areas not theirs and the U.S. makes no move?

comet

Comet Time?

NASA has started an initiative called the Grand Asteroid Challenge, pulling amateur astronomers into their fold to help research and look for new Near Earth Objects, almost like a desperate race to find something they expect to be coming. There was talk after the Russia asteroid exploded in the atmosphere that it was part of a large cluster of rocks from a larger body that broke up thousands of years ago. These other parts are still out there, and on a similar orbit, but nothing more has come out on the details of their research. Could NASA’s outreach be more out of desperation than for a fun group activity?

Bringing in real world happenings into the theories of what might be coming is the way to go. Not this California Dreaming style of watching a movie and then believing that movie is proof that the government is hiding something.

Through out the years, many people have speculated why the Bermuda Triangle acts the way it does. Some believe it’s the work of Aliens. Others believe it is a tear between dimensional worlds. What if it is sort of both, but not in they way everyone is speculating? What if it is something so much simpler, that everyone has overlooked the obvious?

The Bermuda Triangle, a location of mystery and disaster.

The Bermuda Triangle, a location of mystery and disaster.

People have reported several anomalies in the Bermuda Triangle including crazy magnetic readings, loss of altitude, strange weather, and sudden sinking of vessels. Researchers have confirmed that compass readings to go awry in areas of the Bermuda Triangle. Researchers also found that there are methane gases being released in the waters of the Bermuda Triangle which cause a bubbling action at the surface. These methane bubbles can cause a boat to be less buoyant and thus sink suddenly. The methane gas being released was found to actually affect the lift of an aircraft in some cases, making them drop in altitude at times. Islands in the area, for instance Bimini were also found to have caverns and voids in the ground.

Chiculub Crater

The Chicxulub Crater, site of the Dinosaur Killer impact

There can be an other worldly explanation for this, but not Alien spacecraft. I’m talking alien rocks. In 2010, scientists have made a discovery that locates the actual impact crater from the meteor that “killed the dinosaurs”. Called the Chicxulub Crater, the location places the impact in the Gulf of Mexico, with the part of it on the Yucatan Peninsula. But what if all of the meteor didn’t stay in the crater? What if part of it came back up into the atmosphere with the debris, or even part of it broke off during entry, to come down near by? Could a large piece of meteorite that landed in this area cause the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle?

In Season 3 of Destination Truth, the team investigated the area of Bimini Island of the Bahamas since they had the strongest magnetic disturbances there. Another object gives off strong magnetic fields, a meteorite. It’s common for meteor hunters to use a metal detector to search for the mostly iron space rocks. When found they use a strong earth magnetic to confirm its composition. There have been notes of some meteor hunters actually using a compass to help locate them because they can throw off the magnetic field slightly.

Wikipedia notes that there are sinkholes surrounding the Chicxulub Crater, leading scientists to believe that the sinkholes may have been caused by the impact while the land was underwater. For a large impact, it would be conceivable that the ground could be fractured and thus allow gases to escape, i.e. the methane emissions also found around Bimini.

When looking at a map, planet size speaking the Bermuda Triangle is in the general area of the crater. Couldn’t it be conceivable that part of the meteor, whether from impact debris, or if it split apart during entry, could have landed within the triangle?

Close proximity of the Triangle and Crater

Close proximity of the Triangle and Crater

Could the Bermuda Triangle really be the result of part of the Dinosaur Killer Meteor coming to rest in the area of the Bermuda Islands? As it struck the ground, it could have caused fractures that allow trapped methane gas to continually escape to the surface. Being made of a ginormous chunk of iron, could it be strong enough to effect vessel navigation? We won’t know until some meteor hunters decide to hunt for the ultimate meteor.

I apologize for the lack of new posts to my page. It seems 2014 slipped away from me quickly, and before I realized it, 2015 has arrived. My pledge is to do more posting this year. I have several in the works right now. One is on the possible location of Atlantis, another is a possible explanation for the Bermuda Triangle. The third is a mind-blowing theory that rolls Ancient Aliens, Alien abductions, and belief in God all in one.

One complication that I missed in 2014 is the fact that stock graphic sites have completely altered their payment amounts for graphics. Basically making them incredibly expensive to obtain. Thus, a consideration I am toying with is no more snappy graphics for each blog. I hate the idea, but being a lowly paid citizen, can’t afford fancy graphics.

I welcome ideas and suggestions on good but cheap graphic sites. As I search for graphics this week, be assured, by the end of the week, you will have a new post to ponder and theorize over.

Sightings near river valleys

While recently visiting a website, SasquatchTracker.com, after they said they had updated their database of Alaskan reports, I realized that I could easily enter these reports as pins on Google Earth. After entering all the reports from 1991 – present, a clear pattern began to form. There were a few areas that stood out with groupings of reports. The Ketchikan area, 22 reports from 1998 – 2011 and Klawock/Klawock Lake area, 7 reports from 1995 – 2001. The Klawock Lake area in particular had very specific locations noted along the road that along the lake itself. If anyone interested in bigfoot research happens to be in the area, you should check those locations out. Outside of the Prince of Wales area, I noticed that most other reports happened along river valleys, and coastal areas (beaches and coastlines). This was particularly interesting, since some foresaw that bigfoot lived in the higher mountain areas. Now, of course, you cannot conclude that bigfoot must only live in the river valleys because that is where most of the reports are gathered. This could just be because the river valleys are where the larger concentration of people live, work, and hunt.

Another surprise was how there seemed to be no reports from the North Slope area, where the drilling companies are. One would expect at least one or two. There would be no lack of food, with large caribou herds, seals, and other fuzzies running around.

Other areas of note would be the Tok area, 15 in all, mostly around the river near the highway, including a recent grouping near Border City, 7 in all, of tracks between 2003 – 2013. Hydaburg had 5 reports between 1994 – 2004. The river area around Bethel had 7 reports from 1999 – 2012. Denali Park entrance area had 5 from 1992 – 2010. Another surprise was that there were no current reports from my neck of the woods in Alaska. One would think with the concentration of people would result in a number of reports with the higher percentange chance of interaction.

The points of reports posed an interesting question because one would think that there would be more reports in the outlying areas of the larger cities: Anchorage, Mat-Su, Fairbanks, Juneau, and there weren’t. However, the other reports weren’t isolated and in the middle of the woods, either. The reports were your typical “crossing the road,” “saw at the beach,” “saw on a trail” type reports in areas where there were towns and cabins. Hopefully, as word gets out, more people will report sightings, and with a great site just for Alaskans, like sasquatchtracker.com, more data can be gained.

What to do now?

What to do now?

So, the end of the world has come and gone, and unfortunate for those that partied hard, and ran up their credit card debt, we are all still here. Now that, the world has realized that we will live to see another day, what will all those Doomsday preppers do? Well, turns out some will still be prepping for Doomsday. This time, just not with a date. Many preppers believe that the end will still come, but for many different reasons: economic crash, disease, asteroid, terrorist attack, and climate change, to name a few.

Do I prep? Well, of course I do. I live in Alaska. Prepping doesn’t have to be a bad word. Anyone that lives in an area that has the potential for natural disasters should prep to a point that they could survive at least for 2 weeks on their own. I don’t feel the need to go to the extreme of building a bunker and stocking piles years worth of food. Thankfully, I live in a place that the community would easily pull together in a disaster, and not rip each other apart, like the world has seen in some areas. If you live in such an area, then I suggest you consider moving if you feel you need to build a compound to protect yourself. But your job is the reason that you live in the City? Then I suggest that you shouldn’t be a doomsday prepper because you have your priorities in the wrong order.

Whatever level of prepper you are, the Doomsday Preppers will always be around. They will simply continue on because prepping is really a sort of obsession to them, an addiction if you will. They couldn’t stop it, even if they wanted to.

Now, my concern? It’s a little bit natural disaster; a little bit terrorist attack. My biggest concern is that a Doomsday Prepper might get tired of waiting for Armageddon, and decide to start their own.

Does praying give power to Gods?

I recently watched the movie Wrath of the Titans where Zeus’ son Perseus has to fight off Ares and other creatures to prevent the elemental Titans from returning to Earth. During the movie, Zeus expresses his concern to Perseus that the Gods are loosing their powers because humans did not pray to them anymore. I wondered how would prayers from humans give power to a God? It seemed like a strange concept since this is not a power or ability that humans possess. How can simply thinking of someone give them extraordinary powers? Although, when groups do pray together, do we not feel stronger somehow?

Ancient God Zeus

Aside from this mystery, I have always wondered how does a Christian God who seems to cry out for animal sacrifice and praise in the old testament of the Bible, turn into a less vengeful and more patient, gentle God in the new testament? This movie seemed to give an insight into this “mood change.” Just as people grow more wise when they grow older, so too might Gods. In the movie, Zeus was known as a very vengeful and “do what I want” God. As his power lessened, he began to realize what he was doing, and like humans had regret for what he had done and tried to do better for humankind.

Ironically being vengeful and flighty with mankind is what made humans despise the Gods and stop praying to them, making them weak. As the Gods became too weak, a single act of power was enough to make them turn to dust and the immortal God became mortal and died. I did not recall these stories in my history classes and was shocked when I saw the immortals turn to dust. I realized this could be the answer to my question of how a world full of Gods could turn into a world where most religions believed in one “single, true” God. Could it be that the Christian God is simply one “ancient” Greek or Roman God that survived this tumultuous time. This God was able to reincarnate himself into a kindlier, more forgiving God that the humans at the time needed? He realized in time what humans needed in a God and was able to convince us to continue praying for him, allowing him to remain immortal and even gain power.

Following this line of thinking leads one to wonder if the One True God is an ancient mythical God from the Greeks and Romans, then which one is it? Could it really be Zeus, the God of Law, Order, and Justice, or is it another lesser known God that thought quickly and took over the reins of power?

death to devices

Devices dead on 07-09-12

Ok, so, if you wanted to get to know how many devices access the internet, and say, wanted to be able to track and possibly remotely access those devices, how would go about doing it?

First, you would need to know the devices DNS address. That is the secret address that every device, computer, tablet, phone has assigned to it so that it can access the internet.

Second, you would need people to voluntarily give you that information so that it would be legally obtained.

How do you do that? Maybe freak people out that they might have a computer virus and you can check their device for them?

If you want to have a conspiracy theory about the government, then this would be a huge one. On April 24th, 2012, the U.S. CERT site (Computer Emergency Readiness Team) posted that a criminal cyber ring working under a company called Rove Digital may have infected millions of devices in the U.S. with malware software that interrupts your devices transmissions through the internet. Somehow, the government will be able to disable ALL of these said infected devices on July 9th, 2012 with a magical flip of a switch. So, of course, one cannot have their internet dependent life interrupted, so the government has graciously invited individuals to sign onto a website: www.dns-ok.us and check to see if their device is infected. If you get a GREEN screen, you’re OK, RED your device will be dead. Now comes the choice, do you believe in the threat and let the government have your DNS, or risk it’s false, and then possibly have your device shut down?

One thing is for sure…any device checking the site, the government will have its DNS address. Once they have that, it’ll be easier for them to see what you are researching, where you are located, if you use GPS features, and possibly even see you if they can turn on the camera on your device. Far fetched? Don’t forget a few weeks ago there was a big up roar in the news when a school that allowed students to borrow laptop computers was spying on the kids by activating the laptop’s camera. If a school could do it, don’t hesitate to think that the government could too.

Let’s just pray my conspiracy theory is wrong, and if the government does store our DNS addresses, that they keep them secure and not have a computer get hacked into or lost.

You may be wondering…did I…go to the site? Of course I did. I’m not an idiot. I don’t want my devices shut down, and besides…I’ve got nothing to hide. One thing is for sure, I will be eagerly looking for statistics to be published at the end of the year of the estimated devices accessing the internet, including how many phones are in use in 2012.

Stay safe out there, and remember, keep your cameras pointed in a safe direction.

UPDATE 07-25-2012 Amazingly, the magic date comes and goes and instead of hearing thousands of complaints about people’s computer systems not being able to access the internet after the deadline, there are none. So, did the government over-estimate how many computers had truly been infected, or was this truly a ruse to simply get everyone to log in their internet accessible device to the government’s database?

pakistan earthquake

Pakistan earthquake damage

If you believe that the world will end in 2012, then you might also believe in preparing for that disaster and the future afterwards. Unless the earth explodes in a fantastic fashion, the likelihood that ALL humans on the earth will be destroyed is an impossibility. The earth has been struck by large asteroids time and time again, and yet, life carries on in the mysterious blue marble. Yes, a major disaster like nuclear war, plague, solar flares, and meteors could be devastating and will most likely kill most life on earth, but some will survive. Doomsday will come eventually, the question is how will you plan for it?

Move To Fertile Grounds Theory

Some people believe the best solution is to relocate to an area with fertile grounds to grow crops. This plan is solid as long as the person has the capability to travel long distances, if needed, to get to this fertile area. A warmer region would be best, an area without a winter that could sustain year round farming. Multiple factors would need to be considered. How will travel be done? Will there be supplies available upon arrival? If supplies need to be brought, how do they get transported to the location? The biggest obstacle for this plan is the simple fact that travel across the planned route may simply be impossible after the disaster. Countless changes to the terrain could happen, not to mention others will undoubtedly come to the same conclusion and choose to protect or block the route.

Stand Your Ground Theory

Of course, other people believe that they will simply hold up in their house. If they have enough food and water they will be fine. This is a wonderful idea, for a short-term disaster. But if help is not going to arrive with in two weeks, it isn’t going to matter how much food and water you have, because now you will become a target for others who are more aggressive, and failed to prepare themselves. The question then becomes, can you protect yourself? Unless you built an underground bunker, with a massively dynamic air system, the answer will be: not for long. Oh, but you have a vent system for your underground bunker? Does it come straight to the surface? All a person would need to do is force smoke into the intake, or block it off entirely, and you will be forced out of your little rabbit hole. Then your food stores will be their’s.

Best of Both Worlds Theory

So, one would need to have an area that is defendable, but yet have an area that can sustain long-term living. Of course, survival of a large disaster will never be something that one can survive all alone. The best scenario for preparation would be to have a small group organized. Large groups would be great for defence, but could make early sustainability impossible. Goals for preparation of the location would include securing and storing temporary supplies ahead of time. Unless it is a place that you will actively be living in, time will be needed to grow crops. Thus, food supplies will be needed, such as MREs until the crops can be harvested. Ways to defend one’s area should already be in place. The less needed to bring to an area, the more successful the chances will be to get to the location, and to survive/defend it upon arrival.

During one episode of Brad Meltzer’s Decoded, the hosts interviewed several people who had already developed a secret group that had assigned tasks. One individual even went so far as to have a secret location that he was currently living in, prepped for what he believed would be the coming disaster. Unfortunately, planning to survive on your own, defeats the whole purpose of surviving. Why bother surviving, if you will be by yourself?

Unfortunately, keeping a 3 day survival kit for “normal” disasters is expensive enough, let alone preparing to become totally self-sustaining. So, I will more than likely fall into that group of poor folks that just aren’t prepared when the end finally comes. My failure will not be because I didn’t know better, but because bread on the table NOW is more important to me than having bread on the table in a future unknown world.

NASA's ATREX project hopes to analyze the jet stream

For the last few days, in March 2012, NASA has been trying to launch a 5 rocket project, ATREX, 65 miles up in the atmosphere to release particulars into the air, all the better see the jet stream with. What causes me to pause is the question as to WHY NASA feels the need to do this. Many weather stations and sites already have maps that show where the Jet Stream is located, how strong it is, and even anticipates where it is going to be. Weatherman already use satellites, radar, and cloud tracking methods, to “see” where this hidden power of global wind is. Could there be another reason that NASA, or the government, needs more detailed information on the jet stream? Could they have been dabbling in weather altering technology and need to confirm their effects, or disaster? Could a scientist have noticed a trend vital to the survival of the earth that the government wants to confirm, and possibly find a solution to? Could the earth be setting up for another ice age?

Just over 10,000 years ago, the world was in a warming phase, the major ice fields had receded and melted. Then an ice damn located near the head of Lake Erie by New York, burst sending thousands of gallons of freshwater into the salty Atlantic Ocean. The inundation of freshwater was sufficient enough to cause the major ocean currents, which rotate due to differing solidity levels, to stall out and stop rotating. Thus, causing a resurgence of cold weather, glaciers advancing, and the last ice age that the world has known.

Weather alterations, which have included past jet stream relocations, have created major problems on the planet including the great dust clouds of the 19th century on the plains and the surging of the deserts in Africa and China. Of course, I hope this is simply my mind creating a more interesting theories for something that is really mundane science. We can only pray that there isn’t a bigger problem out there waiting to be revealed at some future presidential speech.

Recently, I was researching websites at zooniverse.com, a wonderful place where anyone can help research groups sort through their data. One of the research sites was attempting to sort through all their killer whale song data to match family groups together. You see, Orca whales have whale songs, and utilize the same complex note to announce their family group, which allows other family members to find them. Listening to the whale songs was slightly tedious because they tended to be very pitchy. After going through several selections, my daughter and I realized that they resemble howling calls by wolves, coyotes, and dogs. Once we came to that realization, and knowing that whales came from land mammals that returned to the sea, I theorized if whales and wolves are actually related. You see killer whales have very distinctive markings, which are similar to wolves. Both have light markings on the underbelly, light markings around the eyes, a greyish patch on their backs, and hunt and live with a pack mentality.

After some quick research on Wikipedia (gotta love this resource of information) I was surprised to find that indeed, killer whales and wolves did have a common ancestor. This graphic from Wikipedia shows that the group Canis (dogs, wolves) and Cetaceamorpha (whales) evolved from the common ancestor of Erinaceus. How amazing is that? Other animals that share this ancestor are zebras, hippos, cats, and more.

I love that a simple theory discovered with my daughter could determine this evolution to be true.

I watched an episode of SyFy’s Fact or Faked last night on the Paulding Lights of Michigan and thought they did a descent job of investigating, and agreed with their conclusion that it was unexplained. However, I was depressed to see that students at Michigan Tech also researched the lights shortly after the episode aired in 2010. The big difference? MIT thought to bring a telescope to look at the light. Thus, they found it was indeed headlights. MIT was able to prove this by using the telescope to identify a sign along the stretch of highway for this specific spot where the headlights could be seen. Although Fact or Faked, had also ran a vehicle up and down the highway with no results, obviously they must have been in the wrong stretch of road. The further information that the light was sometimes multiple lights, changed colors from red to white, or flashed blue and red, should have been HUGE clues that they were vehicle lights. This info was never relayed on the tv episode, only that it was a “light” that pulsated and never moved, or at least that was the impression the show gave.

It is sad to find out that a mystery light, that I had even heard about, is indeed something as mundane as vehicle lights from a highway.

Locally, we have a hill near town that snowmachiners follow a trail on. Once in a while you can see the headlights from the snowmachine. When it is dark out, you can’t see the hill and only this mysterious light that doesn’t appear to move. Maybe I should start a folk story about an old gold miner killed tragically trying to signal for rescue. The point being, lights at night, are hard determine what they are from and the likelihood that they are supernatural or alien ships is nill. More than likely, they are manmade phenomenon that we mistake for something else because the human mind craves sensationalism.

lights in the sky

Proof of Aliens? Don't discount Military Craft.

First off, I just want to say that I am a huge fan of the show Fact or Faked from the SyFy channel. I love this show because they usually take care in doing their analysis and attempts to duplicate the videos. Imagine my disappointment, as I found them completely flawed in their analysis of the Red Lights over El Canio, California and other lights in Arizona that “hyper-jumped.” In the episode with the Arizona lights there appeared to be 3 to 4 lights that would vanish and reappear in front of one another. The lights were off in the distant with what appeared to be clouds in the background. F&F showed a video of flares being launched by a military plane, to dismiss it as a possibility, but showed a close up of them. Flares at a close angle, right under the aircraft launching them, will appear to fall quickly. However, you can’t compare a close up of flares being deployed with a shot of lights several miles in the distance. If you want to dismiss flares as the reason for “strange” lights in the sky, then you need to compare them from several miles out. An object up close will appear to fall quickly, but when you add a vantage point from several miles away, it will appear to not move because the distance is so great. I have personally seen military flares in use while in Fairbanks, Alaska. I myself couldn’t tell what the objects were, until a fellow officer came by and said, “Oh those? They are military flares, we used those all the time.” He was a veteran from the army. Just as the lights in Arizona, these lights appeared to simply hover there and not move. They lasted about 15 to 20 minutes, the same amount of time as the Arizona lights. Then they slowly and simply faded out one by one. It’s amazing how perspective can greatly change the appearance of an object. I would have liked them to ask the military to shoot a couple of flares in the sky that night for comparison.

Another possible reason, which I was surprised F&F never addressed, for the lights could have been military helicopters flying in formation with search lights on. As they went through the cloud it could have made them appear to disappear and reappear. If the helicopter simply re-orientated itself, that would change the direction it was facing and thus, make it’s light disappear. From a distance, helicopters flying in formation, towards the viewers direction would make it appear as a hovering and motionless bright light. Then as the helicopters changed direction, to head back to base, they would appear to simply disappear. I live in an area where medivac helicopters fly in often. You would think you would be able to see the strobes on the helo, but when they are coming towards you, the light on the front is so bright, and the strobes so close (not having wings that stick out) they were washed out by the front light. At a distance, before you could hear the helicopter, all you see is this bright light hovering in the sky far out. I’ve found myself doing a double, triple take before I realized it was a medivac coming in.

On the episode with the red lights shaped in a triangle, the F&F crews also tried to debunk the idea that it was a helicopter and went through a very sensationalized experiment with a helicopter with a triangle of lights attached at the bottom. Their decision that it matched except for the fact that you could clearly still hear the helicopter, is again completely flawed. In both of these attempts to duplicate the lights, they have forgotten to duplicate the one major factor in the original videos; that the lights were several miles away. Of course if your helicopter is hovering directly overhead, you are going to hear it. Helicopters can be surprisingly quiet when at a distance. They were able were able to match the lights size but were assuming it was something small.

One more possible explanation could be a prankster with a remote-controlled blimp with red lights on it. But anyone can fake anything now a days. Special care needs to be taken before jumping to the “alien ship” answer for lights in the sky.

blazing earth

Disaster on the America's.

As I read an article in the Popular Science magazine on 2012 doomsday scenarios based on past disasters that have struck the Earth. Many of the examples given were disasters over the last few million years that have happened within the North American Continent. I found myself thinking that maybe North America , in the long term, is not a smart place to make a civilization. Then I realized that this may be why this continent seemed to be inhabiteted by men that were much less advanced than the men in Europe and the Mediterranian. Why did the humans living Eastern/European world advance so much further than those in the Americas? In theory, Is it because the American continents were struck repeatedly by one disaster after another, and that humans living here had to start over and over again? Maybe so many disasters happened, that the humans on the other side of the world finally said “Enough” and came up with the “Void” and “Ends of the Earth” stories to keep mankind from returning to the American Continents and leaving the humans that survived there on their own to go on alone without the current knowledge.

Many Bigfoot researchers believe that these animals communicate by calls and knocking. Just as hunters use calls to bring their prey closer, researchers have tried to bring in the creatures by filling the air with calls. However, some of the calls I have seen done on TV sound very similar to other animals found in the areas of investigations. There is also the possibility of contamination in the results by pranksters hiding in the woods and answering back. One particular call, used by Finding Bigfoot researchers sounds too similar to the high, sometimes shrieking, calls of the coyote.

Here’s a link from Finding Bigfoot where the investigators are Making Calls at Night. You can hear them talking about hearing coyote calls, and then another sound that they think is not a coyote. However, when they imitate the sound, it sounds just like a coyote call.

Bear grunts sound like Bigfoot calls

They also make grunting noises as another type of call. Unfortunately, the grunting noises sound similar to a number of animals, including bears and wolverines. Here is a bear cub calling for its mother, sounds like the grunt calls they do: Bear Cub Grunting.

Here’s a coyote barking and howling. Now I’ve personally heard them do this high-pitched howl longer (about 3 secs) without any barks or change in pitch Short Coyote Howl

The point here is that care should be taken to analyze calls heard in the wild. Just because a person has never heard anything like it before, does not mean it is not a known animal. The best method to attract a bigfoot would be to use recorded calls played back in the woods. The reason that recorded sounds are normally banned from hunting activities is because they can be extremely effective. Recordings also eliminate the inaccuracy of a human voice replicating a call and ensure all the fine nuances of a call are replicated.

bigfoot graphicWhen researchers discuss Bigfoot sightings, they almost exclusively talk about the northwestern United States, Washington and Oregon area. I wondered why there was not more talk about Alaska, a place with over 650,000 square miles and vast wilderness doesn’t have more Bigfoot sightings? Perhaps it is because of the uniqueness of way of life in Alaska that offsets the ability to have Bigfoot sightings. You see, in Alaska, people are used to living in areas with large animals. Alaska is home to the largest bear population in the United States, and is home to the largest of the deer family, the moose. Wildlife, as is common knowledge, is plentiful here. As such, Alaskans are especially careful when going out into the wilderness. In bear country, we make sure to make plenty of noise by singing, talking loudly, and clapping. This bear safety basic is to help alert any bears in the area, “Hey bear, here comes a human, get out-of-the-way.” Bears are often shy creatures and will move when hearing people come. With Bigfoot an even shyier creature and more stealthy, they would have no problem avoiding an encounter.

Imagine if an Alaskan did see a Bigfoot. Unless they were in feet of it, they would probably just dismiss it as a bear. Many Alaskans believe that Bigfoot sightings in Washington and Oregon are just misidentified bears. Since we see bears so often, we might find it hard to believe something we see was anything but a bear.

Coyotes and wolves are also very plentiful in Alaska. Coyote cries are often heard even near towns. When I watch the Finding Bigfoot show, I believe they are misidentified coyotes cries, which can sound like someone screaming or wailing, and not the typical howl. Of course, if an Alaskan hears a cry or howl in the woods, we would be more apt to believe it was a bear, wolf, or coyote before thinking it was a Bigfoot.

Perspective plays a large part in Bigfoot research. If you live in an area in which you don’t believe there is a lot of wildlife out there, you might be more apt to believe something strange was Bigfoot. However, if you live in an area where you frequently see wildlife, then you might be more apt to believe something strange you saw was a normal animal and not a Bigfoot. An Alaskan camping in the woods and hearing something rustle around their tent, or seeing a big shadow hover over their tent will probably think it is a bear. But what if it was really a Bigfoot. Alaskans often know that bear tracks often over lap. But what if a track wasn’t an overlapped bear print. My point is that I believe more research teams need to come to Alaska. Hike out to the wilderness, off the beaten path, and research the dense wilderness here. If researchers talk to local hunters more, and ask them to record and photograph anything odd they find, more Alaskans might realize that what they are hearing, and seeing, just might not be the usual animals. In theory, what if Alaskans have misidentified Bigfoot?

comet

Comet raining down

In the Bible, Revelations 12:3,4 it says:
“And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his head seven diadems: (4)And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth:”

Nostradamus wrote in Century I Quatrain 46:
“Very near Auch, Lectoure and Mirande
a great fire will fall from the sky for three nights.
The cause will appear both stupefying and marvellous;
shortly afterwards there will be an earthquake.”

The general belief is that the earth will be bombarded with a meteor shower, or a large asteroid. However, with recent solar flares, I have thought of a new theory for this sign. Solar flares send out electrons and protons through space. When these hit the earth’s atmosphere, the atmosphere actually puffs up. This causes more drag on satellites in orbit. Those satellites that are near the end of their life, have been damaged by previous flares, or are no longer controlled, can not have their trajectory corrected for the extra resistance. Thus, they slow down and if low and slow enough, fall back to the earth. This could even happen to the thousands of pieces of debris in orbit. Several defunct satellites have already fallen back to earth in spectacular fashion within the last few months. As the solar cycle reaches its height, near the end of 2012, the atmosphere could be effected to such a degree that a many number of satellites might fall to earth at the same time. Be it rock, a ball of ice, or a man-made satellite, they all burn during re-entry the same way; one big ball of fire.

As shows on Bigfoot have grown in popularity, common sense seems to have lessened in proportion. Here are some Do’s and Don’ts that should be considered on investigations.

DON’T have a town meeting before investigating. A town meeting is a good way to gather eyewitness reports, HOWEVER, this announces your presence in the area and gives hoaxers plenty of time to set up in wooded areas discussed at the public meeting. With this in mind any evidence of calls, knocks, rock throwing, heat signatures, twisted branches or other human capable evidence HAS to be thrown out. Unless of course a bigfoot is actually FILMED doing the act. If a team wants to hold a town meeting, the result should be to find new locations to search, or to confirm other stories. There are a plethora of stories out there, sneak into town quietly and do a night or two of research in reported areas BEFORE announcing your presence. Yes, there can still be hoaxers out in the woods, but at least the chance of contamination can be lessened.

DON’T assume calls and knocks are Bigfoot. Unfortunately, bigfoot calls can and do sound like other animals found in the areas of investigations. A high pitched cry can be a coyote. A low grunt can be a bear or wolverine. Knocks could be two trees smacking together in the wind. Of course, any of these sounds could also be pranksters messing with you. Nothing throws me into fits faster than when a researchers hollers into the woods, they hear a call back, and instantly they say, “There’s a Squatch in these woods.” How the heck do they know it’s a Squatch? Fire Truck sirens can set off dogs howling. It could just be another animal responding to the noise. Record the evidence, and then get it analyzed by a professional in the animal calls for the area being researched.

DO look up. I watched an episode recently where several eyewitnesses mentioned that the Bigfoot was able to jump high and in fact had been seen high up in trees. Yet, not once did the investigation show the “scientists” looking up into the trees with their own eyes, night vision, or thermal cameras.

DO believe in the fact that Bigfoot is a high intelligent species. Whether Bigfoot is related more to humans, or to apes, the fact remains that they would be highly intelligent. Researchers are counting on the fact that Bigfoot has a complicated vocal system of calls and knocking to communicate across great distances. Do they really think a Bigfoot is going to hear them stumbling and crashing through the woods and simply continue to walk nonchalantly in front of their camera lens? This intelligent creature is probably well practiced in hiding and being discreet. Many of the eyewitness reports state that they often were hiding behind trees, etc. Think like they would, and figure out what would be a great hiding place, or where would they go if someone came crashing through this trail. Be a step ahead, and maybe you can catch sight of them.

grizzly in field

Grizzly in a field

I promised on the main page that I would explain in more detail why I created this site. I was elated to find that Ranae Holland, from Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot, actually answered a Tweet I sent her about coyote calls. In the Tweet, she admitted that many people mistake coyote, and other animal calls, for Bigfoot Calls.

I then proposed a 2 part theory to her. The first was whether she believed that Bigfoot ever interacted with bears? Ranae replied that it was possible since, Bigfoot were believed to live in the same type of forested areas.

With that confirmation, from a “scientist”, I then proposed that if Bigfoot and bears lived in the same area, and Bigfoot were believed to be extremely territorial and aggressive at times, even killing deer, that could it be possible for Bigfoot and bears to fight each other? Since bears were known to even fight to the death with each other, is it possible that a bear might kill a Bigfoot, or vice versa? What if a Bigfoot was killed, and a hunter stumbled upon the kill and mistook that “bear kill” to simply be a moose kill?

Ranae’s response was, “the question is, would the moose be mistaken for a unicorn?” She then scolded me that I “theorized incessantly” and science was done by going out into the field and not making up theories while sitting at home. Of course, I was infuriated, and wondered if Einstein, who sat at a patent desk all day, theorizing about quantum physics, would agree.

Moose

Moose mistaken for a Unicorn?

You see, my theory was that a moose is a huge animal, with a huge rib cage. Bigfoot is supposed to be a huge animal, with by description a huge rib cage. When an animal is killed, after the main predator has their fill, other predatory animals come in and take what pieces they can carry away. That is why old kills often do not have all the pieces together in the same area. An entire carcass is hardly ever found whole, and all together. It is often scattered through out the area. So, my theory was that a hunter might stumble upon a carcass, and simply chock it up to be a moose kill from a bear, when in fact it could be a dead Bigfoot, whether by natural causes, or even a bear. My point to presenting this to Ranae was that her group, that was actually out investigating should examine and take in the evidence found by hunters. Maybe even invite hunters to report kills found, so that they could be investigated and confirmed as to what animal it was, and what animal killed it. Even if the body wasn’t a Bigfoot, maybe a Bigfoot killed it and thus DNA and hair might be left behind on the carcass. Proof from a carcass would be solid evidence of Bigfoot, and change the direction investigations were done. Instead of simply going out into the woods and waiting for noises, and wondering if they were pranksters or not. This method could provide the solid evidence needed.

The one thing I can thank Ranae for is her utter disregard to discussing other people’s theories and her belief that just because I don’t have the capability or funding to go out and do research, that my ideas were not even worth contemplating. I was infuriated that she so flippantly pushed me aside and openly mocked me, that she inspired me to create a place where others like me can discuss our theories openly.

In case you want to side with Ranae that only people who can investigate should theorize, then I suggest you talk to NASA who takes hypothesis from students and has the astronauts on the space station implement the experiments.
